Personal introduction Biography
Dr. Yangyao Chen was born in 1995 in Changde, Hunan Province. From September 2013 to June 2017, he studied at the School of Physics, Wuhan University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. From September 2017 to June 2022, he studied at the Department of Astronomy, Tsinghua University, earning a Ph.D. in Science and receiving the Tsinghua University Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award. From November 2019 to October 2021, he was a joint Ph.D. student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. From August 2022 to September 2025, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Science and Technology of China, receiving the Mozi Outstanding Young Talent Allowance. He joined Nanjing University in October 2025. His main research interests are galaxy formation theory, analytical and semi-analytical modeling, and numerical simulations.
