Personal introduction Biography

Luo Bin, born in 1981, is now a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of  Astronomy and Space Science, Nanjing University. 


Luo received his bachelor’s in mathematics and physics in 2002 from Tsinghua University, master’s in astrophysics in 2005 from the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and doctorate in astronomy in 2010 from the Pennsylvania State University. Then he did his post-doc studies at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and the Department of Astronomy at Penn State. He joined the faculty of Nanjing University in 2015.

 Research focuses: cosmic evolution of supermassive black holes; accretion physics of super-Eddington accreting massive black holes.
